GTM Debugger export analyser
Files are read in your browser. Only tag names, event names, consent states and dataLayer key names are sent for AI analysis; dataLayer values are not sent.

Summary
How it works
Two passes
- Rule checks run instantly in your browser on every event. Same file in, same findings out. They cover consent timing, Consent Mode v2 parameters, tags firing under denied consent, duplicate firing, failed tags, legacy UA tags and, with the container export, paused tags, unused tags and consent settings.
- AI analysis (optional) looks for anything the rules can't see. Every AI finding must cite tag names or event numbers from your export. Claims that cite nothing real are moved to Needs validation instead of being shown as fact.
Reading the report
- Rule check deterministic, high confidence.
- AI observation something the AI saw in the data.
- AI diagnosis an inference about cause or impact. Always verify before recommending.
- Events are numbered as in Tag Assistant's left-hand summary, so "Event 7" is item 7 there.
- Documentation links come from a checked list of current GA4/GTM pages, not from the AI.
Getting the best results
- Clear Tag Assistant history, then record just the journey you want to test.
- Record one session declining cookies and one accepting them.
- Upload the container export for the same version you previewed.
